In 1993, Köksal Kocaağa graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law. After having completed his internship, he started to practice as a lawyer in 1995.

In 1996, he started to work as a research assistant at Ankara University Faculty of Law. From the same university he received his LLM degree in 1998 and PhD degree in 2003, respectively.

In 2003, he started to work as an assistant professor at Akdeniz University Faculty of Law. At the same university, he was appointed as an associate professor in 2006 and as a full professor in 2011. He is still working as a civil law professor at Akdeniz University Faculty of Law.

As a scholar of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD-Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst), he studied at Westfaelische Wilhelms University (Münster, Germany) from 1999 to 2000 and at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich (Germany) in 2004.

Since 2004 he has lectured on Introduction to Civil Law and Law of Persons, Family Law, Law of Obligations General Provisions, Law of Obligations Special Provisions (Contracts), Modern Contracts Law and Inheritance Law.  At the same university he is still lecturing on Law of Obligations General Provisions in undergraduate program and Modern Contracts Law (Leasing, Franchising, Factoring, Exclusive Dealing, Letter of Credit, Management of Portfolio, Know-How) in graduate programs both LLM and PhD.

Besides the courses taught at Akdeniz University Faculty of Law, as a visiting professor he lectured on Civil Law (Law of Persons, Family Law), Law of Obligations General Provisions, Law of Obligations Special Provisions  (Contracts) and Inheritance Law at Uludağ University Faculty of Law. For the fall semester of 2018-2019 academic year, he has just lectured on Law of Obligations General Provisions at Yeditepe University Faculty of Law.

In several national and international arbitration cases, he has been assigned as an arbiter. He has also reviewed as an expert in many cases. He has published several articles in national and international law journals and these are some of the books written by Prof. Dr. Köksal Kocaağa: The Financial Leasing Contract in Turkish Private Law (Ankara 1999); The Penalty Clause in Turkish Private Law (Ankara 2003); Case Studies in Civil Law (Joint Work, Ankara 2003, 2005); The Executor of the Will (Ankara 2006); Family Law and Its Practice (Joint Work, Ankara 2009, Bursa 2011); The Construction Contract (Ankara 2014),  The Penalty Clause (Contract Penalty) (Ankara 2018); The Financial Leasing Contract (Ankara 2021); The Construction Contract (Ankara 2023).
